Global Solutions Process: "Perfect Fit" Process
Here are the steps we use to assure a "perfect-fit" automation solution for our OEM's:
- Gather Project Information - meet with the customer for a project overview.
- Project Review - Project information is taken to a project review for approval. Sales and engineering evaluate customer requirements and determine the "perfect-fit" solution based on the specified project criteria.
- Bill-of-Material/Prototype - Based on the project review, raw components are specified for all products. From the BOM, a prototype sample is created for approval by the OEM. Samples are typically engineered at cost by FFI Automation to keep any OEM investments low.
- Approval - When the OEM accepts the prototype, a prototype approval file is created. The file indicates any deviations from the actual prototype for production purposes.
- Build Instructions - Before building any additional units, our engineers gather all the information necessary for creating build instructions. The guide is a detailed set of instructions to create the customized assembly. These instructions are supplemented by 2D/3D drawings, digital photographs and the representative prototype sample. The build instructions list the quality assurance tests and checkpoints to ensure a quality product. Our philosophy is quality in is quality out. Before shipping any product, the product must pass a 100% test and inspection process before final release of each and every product.
- Production Units - The initial production uses the build instructions as a guide and is supervised by the engineering department.
